Duangrit Bunnag was born in Bangkok in 1966. After he graduated with a Bachelor in Architecture from Chulalongkorn University in 1989, he collectively worked for 9 years at ARCHITECTS 49 LIMITED, Thailand. In 1995, Duangrit received a Graduate Diploma in Design from the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA) in London and returned to practice in Bangkok. He established his own firm DUANGRIT BUNNAG ARCHITECT LIMITED (DBALP) in 1998. Since then, he has been building his own practice focusing on many design hotels, resorts, commercial and residential projects and has received several recognitions including; ARCASIA Awards for Architecture 2015 : Gold Medal , Best Hotel by Wallpaper Design Awards 2014 , Honorable Mention for the ARCASIA Award 2014 , ARCASIA Award for Architecture 2013 : Gold Medal , ARCASIA Gold Medal in 2005, the ASA Award in 2004 , 2006 ,2010 ,2012 and 2014 the UK’s FX Award in 2000, and the Top 10 Executive Award 2005 from MAI (Market for Alternative Investment (Thailand).

From 2002 to 2005, Duangrit served The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage as a committee and Vice President of Foreign Affairs. Between 2004 and 2006, he was elected Deputy Chairman for Zone B of the Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA). He also served as an elected Board Member of and chairs the Architects Council of Thailand during 2007-2013.

He is a Chartered Manager, and a Fellow of Chartered Management Institute, United Kingdom, and Fellow of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria and Fellow of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
He recently retired from the Federal Civil Service of Nigeria as Permanent Secretary (Common Services Office), Chairman, Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board, and Chairman, Federal Integrated Staff Housing (FISH) Programme, He implemented Group Life Insurance, Pensions Committee, Service Wide IPPIS Committee and Federal Digital Service Delivery Committee, Andy Procurement Planning Committee, all In the Office of Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Nigeria. He was also Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Aviation and Federal Civil Service Commission. He was a board member of the Pension Commission of Nigeria.

David Hodkinson

David Hodkinson is the Co-Founder and Design Director of Studio Noor, a leading architecture and design studio with a focus on hospitality projects, based in Athens and Ho Chi Minh City.
Born in 1977, David studied Architecture at Oxford Brooks University in England and received his Master’s in Architecture and Interior Design from the Royal College of Art in London. After working at Glen Howells Architects, he was hired by design-led practice, Architecture PLB.
David’s desire to establish his own architecture and design studio brought him to Vietnam, where he met Luc Lejeune and set up Noor in 2003. At Noor, David takes the lead on significant hospitality projects for high profile clients including Raffles, Accor and Sofitel as well as a number of luxury residential properties.
David is currently working on the studio’s latest commissions: The House Hotel, Jeddah, Nusr’Et Steak House, Doha, Novikov Restaurants at Cervo Hotel and Cala di Volpe as well as the Hilton in Da Nang, Vietnam.
David is a dedicated, passionate architect who brings a fresh design eye to each project. His ongoing interest is to explore new materials, methods of design and building, along with a focus on high-end contemporary design. David leads a team of 10 architects and interior designers from the studio’s headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City.
David is also a furniture designer and his pieces are sold internationally.

Nicholas is both strategic and hands on project BIM Coordinator, with experience working in an Architectural and Structural reference with 24 years behind him, consulting, designing, implementing and training Engineering and Architectural Teams and organisations while being a director in the African Autodesk Technical AEC Channel for 11 years. Nicholas has worked on a wide range of Architectural, Structural Industrial and MEP projects, both as Principal, Senior Technologist and Lead Standards Creation, IPD (Integrated Projects Delivery) Manager, BIM Manager or Digital Engineering Lead and as such has significant insight and value of understanding the project and disciplines as a whole and in their individual disciplines and putting together systems and BIM Deliverables.


He has been a Technical Director in the Autodesk African Channel and part of the development team, developing online Revit take-off and other 3rd party cloud based and VR applications.


It is essentially important that the right mix and levels of people are brought in early on and at various stages of these projects, trained where necessary and briefed to all coherently deliver fully integrated and coordinated projects in a timeous manor where teams are no longer working as isolated Silos but integrating their rich project data in a central rich and live repository known as a BIG BIM Model with its related datasets. This is achieved by having like-minded people having an attitude to work together, learn and share knowledge and skills openly. Janine Strachan

Andrew McLachlan

A South African national, McLachlan is based at Radisson Hotel Group’s Africa Regional Support Office in Cape Town, South Africa. Andrew is responsible for growing the company’s dynamic portfolio of hotels and brands in Africa and the Indian Ocean.

Andrew’s career in the hotel industry started in 1990 before being formally enrolled in an in-house Hotel Management programme with Protea Hotels. In 1994 he won the Hotel Graduate of the Year Award in South Africa and held various management positions and by 1997 he proudly took over the challenging task of a hotel General Manager at a Protea Hotel in Johannesburg. In 1999, he moved on to the position of Protea Hotels Group Brand Communications Manager and in 2002 set his foot into the development world as Protea Hotels Special Projects Manager.

In December 2006, Andrew joined Radisson as Director Business Development and was promoted to Senior Director and Vice President and thereafter Senior Vice President Business Development in May 2016. José joined Aedas Hong Kong in December 2006. During that period he worked in the Saint Regis Hotel and Service Apartments’ Tower in Cotai Parcel 5&6, Macau. In January 2008 he moved to Aedas Singapore where he was the Team Leader for Skypark in Marina Bay Sands. Subsequently he was involved in the construction stage of “Sentosa Boardwalk”, in Singapore, and the design of “Danga Bay” Concept Master Plan in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. From 2011, he has been leading a Design Team for Projects in Indonesia, Cambodia and the Middle East. Most recently he has added Philippines to his geographical area of responsibility, from the Singapore Office.

Sue Chi is the Supply Chain Management & Procurement Lead for South Asia within JLL’s Integrated Facilities Management team. With over 30 years hospitality experience, Ian has worked throughout Asia as well as the USA and UK with luxury international hotel groups Hyatt, Renaissance / New World Shangri-La and Lanson Place in various F&B, operational, general manager and specialist corporate roles.

Ian was instrumental in establishing a new spa brand CHI and relaunch of fitness concept Kerry Sports with Shangri-La prior to his appointment in 2009 as a Director of Projects for the Group.

Ian joined Dusit International in 2015 as VP Technical Services. The Group is undergoing rapid expansion with over 30 active projects and a strong pipeline in development. The TS team he leads in Bangkok, Manila and Dubai are responsible for new build hotels and renovations, from initial concept and design standards, development and innovation, technical services coordination with hotel operations, designers,
consultants, site project management and pre-opening ownership relations.

A Hotel Management graduate of Oxford-Brooks University and Florida International University, Ian has lived, worked and traveled extensively with his family, is an active sportsman, whilst appreciating the diverse professional and cosmopolitan life that Bangkok and Thailand generously offers.

Carl Almeida

Partner, P49 Deesign

Bangkok, September 2019: Carl Almeida, is an Indian born Australian, residing in Bangkok for the past 18 years, where he is a partner at P49 Deesign, an international design company specializing in interior design for hospitality projects. P49 Deesign, established over 30 years ago, is the largest specialist interior design firm in Thailand with a team of 150 working on numerous hospitality projects worldwide in regions across China, India, Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Africa and in places as far as Switzerland, and Tahiti. Carl graduated with dual degrees of Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Bachelor of Architecture, both from the University of Adelaide, South Australia. He had been practising Architecture and Interior Architecture for 14 years previously in Australia, and now 18 years in Thailand focusing solely on interior design. At P49 Deesign, Carl is responsible for creative direction, business development and overall execution of hospitality projects in numerous countries throughout the world including China, India, Bhutan, Turkey, Egypt, Maldives, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Tahiti and of course Thailand to name a few. He continues designing hotels and resorts for the world’s foremost hotel operators including Accor, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Hilton, Marriott International, and Taj to name a few. Micael Raphael

Cheif Procurement Officer - Asia Pacific, JLL

Manages the sourcing and procurement for JLL’s clients and indirect spend in Asia Pacific with spend under management for Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) and Project & Development Services (PDS) in excess of USD7 billion. Leading a team of 226 procurement professionals in the region who in 2017 will deliver sourcing activities in excess of USD700 million.
Michael also manages the Vendor Service Centre, based in Manila, that supports JLL globally in areas such as contract management, supplier performance management, electronic RFP creation and procurement reporting. In addition to this, he is also a member of the JLL global procurement leadership team.
With 30 years of sourcing experience, Michael has worked with a number of global multinationals. His three most recent roles were greenfield opportunities where he created and developed the procurement function. He has been based in Asia for 11 years.
He previously led the procurement function for the largest listed property trust in the world, as well as running indirect sourcing for Australia’s premier department store. Whilst with the department store he rolled out 7 new stores in 5 years, delivering all the “back of house” requirements in the 24 hours from handover of the construction site to the start of the delivery of stock to fill the store.
During his time at a global pharmaceutical company he worked on the ground in 72 countries whilst creating a new sourcing business to manage their promotional materials. He employed the team of 8 people, developed and managed the supply base as well as internally selling the opportunity to marketing and sales divisions around the world. This opportunity managed $70 million in spend across all divisions, delivering in excess of 80% savings in years 1 & 2.
Prior to JLL he was Managing Director of the Hong Kong division of a US promotional items company that focused its work within the pharmaceutical industry. He has a deep knowledge of the manufacturing base in China and worked closely to create custom products that helped to sell and promote new and updated drugs in the market.

Bernard Kee

Donald Conning

Managing Director, Gensler

Mr. Donald Conning is an architect with over 27 years of experience in Asia Pacific, with a focus in architecture, master planning, and interior design. He has extensive knowledge of various practice areas through leading complex projects across all work stages, achieving the successful completion and delivery of many high profile and internationally recognized work.


Based in Singapore since 2015, Don manages the daily operations of Gensler Singapore and Bangkok offices as the managing director, with Singapore office serving the Asia Pacific region as Gensler’s latest regional hub office. Besides the management role, Don often assumes an oversight role on projects, to ensure the quality of the delivery and to maintain key client relationships.


Based in Vietnam between 2007 and 2012, Don implemented a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial office buildings, mixed-use, hospitality, resort, retail, and education projects throughout Vietnam and Cambodia. Prior to 2007, Don performed as a lead architect role on many high-profile projects in Hong Kong, interfacing with many international and Asia Pacific developers, consultants and contractors. His expert knowledge of design, delivery and procurement process established trust and brought value as the lead of those teams.

Ishak Chandra


Ishak Chandra started his carreer with Astra International and has numerous position in some other big group in Indonesia such as LIPPO LAND Development, SALIM Group & SINAR MAS Group.  Currently  Ishak serves as the President & CEO of TRINITI LAND, the 2018 Indonesian Best Boutique Property Developer which successfully launch, sell and develop some iconic project since 2013 such as Brooklyn Apartment, Springwood Residence, Yukata Suites, The SMITH, Collins Boulevard and latest world class mix used project in Batam named Marc’s Boulevard.


With his extensive more than 25-year Real Estate experience focusing in property development & investment, commercial leasing, corporate strategy and business development, Ishak has numerously got National and International award such as Indonesia Spoke Person of the Year, Worldwide Who’s Who, Indonesian 500 Who’s Who, and Most Influencing Indonesia Property Professional.
Ishak holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Graduate School of Business, University of Central Arkansas, USA majoring in General Management & Investment and Bachelor of Economic Law from University of Indonesia (UI).

Alexander Wong

Alexander Wong is an Award-Winning Architect based in Hong Kong. A post-graduate from Princeton University, he established his own design firm Alexander Wong Architects in 2001. Wong specializes in designing Luxury Homes for A-List Clients in the Movie Industry as well as creating theme-based Cinema Complexes like “Avatar City” in Zhongshan, “A Futuristic Eden” in Shenzhen and “Carmen Futura” (a cinema inspired by the Films of Wong Kar-Wai) in Hong Kong — all three projects garnering International Design Awards and many others including World’s Best Retail for “De Rucci” and World’s Best Show Home for “Golden Eye” respectively at the International Property Awards 2015-2016 in London. In 2013 & 2015, Wong has been selected by AD (Architectural Digest) China as one of the “100 Top Architecture & Design Talents in China” and also voted “Best Young Interior Designer of the Decade” (Hong Kong) 2015 & “Best Innovative Architect Of The Decade” (Hong Kong) 2017. In December 2016, Alexander Wong Architects won the Global Top Award with “World’s Best Interior Design” at the International Property Awards in London.
